22 partners are collaborating on solutions for the next generation smart grid to ensure a sustainable power supply and to strengthen Europe’s sovereignty.
Newsletter September 2020

PROGRESSUS supports the European climate targets for 2030 by proposing a next generation smart grid, demonstrated by the application example “smart charging infrastructure” that integrates seamlessly into the already existing concepts of smart-grid architectures keeping additional investments minimal. The expected high-power requirements for ultra fast charging stations lead to special challenges for designing and establishing an intelligent charge-infrastructure. As emission free traffic concepts are a nascent economic topic also the efficient use of charging infrastructure is still in its infancy.

PROGRESSUS is a European Union project funded under the H2020-ECSEL-2019-2-RIA work programme, launched on April 2020. During the last 12 months, significant progress has been made by all partners in order to fulfill the PROGRESSUS objectives.

This project has received funding from the Electronic Components and Systems for European Leadership Joint Undertaking under grant agreement No 876868. This Joint Undertaking receives support from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme and Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Slovakia.”
The project has an overall budget of about 19.576 M€. The project will receive an ECSEL JU funding of some 5.785 M€ completed with national funding from – Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Italy and Slovakia.
