Company Description:

Located in southern Italy, the Politecnico di Bari is one of the three Italian public universities, together with Politecnico di Milano and Politecnico di Torino, that focuses its activities specifically in teaching and research activity in the field of engineering sciences and architecture. A particular focus is devoted to the interaction with industrial partners and to technology development in the territory of Apulia and Southern Italy. Its profile as a research entity makes available scientific approach and methodology as well as laboratories for the development of the Green Vehicle concept. Specific skills in the field of Electrical Engineering involving system design, simulation and control will be exploited in this call.

Role and main tasks within the project:

Politecnico di Bari will be involved in the study of DC microgrid management for improving controllability and integration in distribution network while providing energy for mobility and grid services. Activities will deal with studies on Grid services provided by DC microgrid (reserve, voltage regulation) in the presence of conventional and fast charging EV stations (including dynamic modeling and control), simulation of coordinated operation in a cluster of DC microgrids and in distribution networks (including optimal management strategies at different time scales and information confidence levels). Tests on the DC microgrid with common users will be carried out, by collection of EV uses in a public-private service fleet, and experience on operation strategy implementation.
